Margot Plotz

Principal Consultant

I am a systems leader with over 15 years of experience in public administration, specializing in the art of alignment. My work is guided by the principle of Renkei, a Japanese concept for deep coordination and collaboration. I don’t believe in chasing every dollar; I believe in aligning an organization’s mission with the right partnerships and structures so that funding leads to implementation and meaningful impact.

Throughout my career, I have bridged the gap between goals and the practical systems required to achieve them. By coordinating complex partnerships and diverse stakeholders, I ensure every pursuit is sound and strategically positioned for long-term success.

Currently, I serve as the Research and Special Projects Director for The Neuroendocrine Institute. In this role, I collect and translate complex clinical data into real-world evidence. Whether directing retrospective studies or supporting efforts to build a framework for a specialized fellowship, my focus remains on optimizing systems to move ideas from conception to reality.

Prior to my current work, I spent seven years as a Senior Director at Basis Policy Research, where I secured millions in revenue across federal, state, local, and philanthropic sectors. This tenure allowed me to fully immerse myself in the strategy of consultative business development, specifically the design of pursuit strategies and strategic narratives required to win multi year contracts and scale organizational growth. My background spans the full lifecycle of public sector growth, from leading procurement at McREL International to managing academic policy and statutorily funded programs for the Colorado Department of Higher Education.

I hold a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy from the University of Colorado Denver and a BA in English from the University of Colorado Boulder. This unique combination of technical policy expertise and narrative strategy allows me to help organizations ensure their mission, their strategy, and their funder’s expectations all move in the same direction.
